To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, the individual must:

describe performer’s requirements in relation to notation of music

describe musical protocols and customs for notating and editing notation of music relevant to chosen music specialisation

outline genres and styles, and their musical forms and conventions in written notation

explain music of chords, scales, melodies, forms, textures or conventions applied in music notation

outline features of computer applications used to notate music

describe issues and challenges that typically arise in the context of notating music for performance, and how they might be overcome.
