Elements and Performance Criteria

  1. Conclude processes
  2. Identify explosive ordnance processes and feasibility assessment
  3. Identify organisational policies, procedures and issues of concern/shortfall applying to relevant processes
  4. Determine resources and any special requirement/s for the performance and conduct of explosive ordnance engineering and logistics processes
  5. Assess feasibility of explosive ordnance engineering and logistics processes to be undertaken and identify offsets/compromises as required, in accordance with organisational procedures
  6. Plan to conduct explosive ordnance processes
  7. Identify availability and suitability of resources
  8. Adjust plans and schedules to accord with resource availability and seek authorisation to progress in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
  9. Identify relevant financial resources and seek authorisation to proceed
  10. Confirm capital requirements and program acquisition in accordance with explosive ordnance engineering and logistics plan
  11. Source production and support materials and plan to procure in accordance with production plan
  12. Confirm staffing requirements, and develop and implement recruiting plan to provide technical and administrative staff in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
  13. Identify and implement relevant legislative requirements including work health and safety (WHS) and environmental matters, during the planning and production processes
  14. Finalise, document and authorise development and production plans in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
  15. Manage explosive ordnance processes
  16. Manage explosive ordnance processes to ensure efficiency of their performance, and to achieve quality of production and objectives
  17. Monitor production and adjust plans to reflect requirements in quality, quantity and efficiency
  18. Coordinate explosive ordnance processes and reallocate/adjust resources, as required
  19. Conduct liaison with supervisors, suppliers, clients and superiors as required, and address feedback and performance
  20. Action reported defects/problems in accordance with organisational procedures and instructions
  21. Determine and either provide or request support requirements in accordance with organisational procedures
  22. Provide reports in accordance with operational guidelines
  23. Debrief supervisors on the performance of their process
  24. Relocate resources in accordance with organisational instructions and procedures
  25. Document explosive ordnance processes to meet organisational requirements

Performance Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence in this unit must be relevant to and satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria on at least one occasion and include:

adjusting processes to reflect changed circumstances

communicating with supervisors, suppliers, clients and subordinates

concluding explosive ordnance processes

following safety, legislative and statutory requirements relevant to the risk assessment

identifying, interpreting and analysing risk assessment requirements relevant to explosive ordnance engineering and logistics processes

identifying, sourcing and allocating relevant resources to the processes

managing explosive ordnance processes efficiently and effectively

planning for the conduct of explosive ordnance processes

preparing complex documents, includes reports, feasibility assessments and organisational plans

using effective techniques to support teams


Knowledge Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence in this unit must be relevant to and satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria and include knowledge of:

acquisition processes

composition of teams, and roles and responsibilities of team members

explosive ordnance engineering and logistics processes

feasibility assessment requirements

instructions and procedures relating to the performance of the processes

inventory control

operational safety associated with the explosive ordnance process

organisational procedures for budgets and financial management

relevant legislation, organisational policies, procedures and instructions, including work health and safety

relevant organisational reporting requirements and procedures

resource and other requirements for the engineering and logistics processes
