Elements and Performance Criteria
- Prepare and plan for the force’s role in the operation
- Clarify tasks relevant to the force with the operation commander.
- Issue warning order to group commanders.
- Gather all relevant information including that gained from a planned reconnaissance, when required.
- Plan the operation using operational command principles and the appreciation process.
- Confirm plan and obtain endorsement by the operation chief.
- Communicate the plan to group commanders
- Conduct operations
- Deploy resources in the area of operations according to the plan.
- Maintain the force under command and control for the duration of the operation.
- Monitor situation and resources to ensure attainment of the mission.
- Respond to situational and resource changes by redeploying resources to achieve the force mission.
- Conduct post-operation processes
- Conduct the operational debrief in accordance with standing operating procedures.
- Analyse operational and administrative aspects of the concluded operational activity.
- Produce a post-operation report in accordance with standing operating procedures.
- Contribute to implementation of agreed recommendations.
