Elements and Performance Criteria
- Prepare for monorail train operations
- Driving requirement is identified and confirmed from roster, shift card or other authorised documentation
- Signon/logon procedures at the depot are completed and monorail train to be operated is correctly identified
- Essential equipment is identified and obtained
- Operate and monitor monorail train in normal operational mode
- Monorail train is operated within specifications and organisational requirements to meet required schedules and special services
- Onboard equipment is confirmed as being serviceable, and is operated in accordance with specifications and organisation requirements
- Warning devices and gauges are monitored and responded to in accordance with organisational requirements
- Operational restrictions established by the organisation and relevant legislation are observed
- Monorail train is stopped in designated and approved locations and within limitations, to permit safe embarkation and alighting of all passengers
- Operate monorail train in abnormal situations
- In an abnormal situation, Network Control Officer is contacted and their instructions are requested
- Appropriate mode of operation is selected and implemented when authorised by Network Control Officer
- All instructions from Network Control Officer are followed
- Monitor onboard equipment
- Equipment is monitored to maintain optimum running conditions and to identify faults, defects and deficiencies
- Appropriate action is taken in response to identified faults, defects and deficiencies to ensure safe operation of monorail train, including communications with Network Control Officer as necessary
- Faults, defects and deficiencies are assessed as instructed by Network Control Officer, to determine risk of damage to equipment or injury to personnel
- Defects are reported and/or recorded
- Communicate with Network Control Officer
- Regular communication is maintained with Network Control Officer when operating monorail train in accordance with workplace procedures and regulatory requirements
- Network Control Officer is advised of operational problems, delays, safety incidents and emergency situations
- Relevant information provided by Network Control Officer is interpreted and applied to driving activities in accordance with workplace procedures and applicable regulatory requirements
- Follow all applicable regulatory requirements
- Regulatory requirements applicable to operating monorail train are accessed and interpreted
- Relevant regulatory requirements are applied and followed when operating monorail train
