Evidence required to demonstrate competence in this unit must be relevant to and satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria and include knowledge of: aetiology of disease relevant to vector borne diseases causes of disease transmission control measures of disease transmission food safety standards including: food storage and distribution standards hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) approach to food control health surveillance system initial hygiene risk assessment including: ability to withstand a storm or weather conditions determining materials used in constructing the building (e.g. asbestos) likelihood of collapse protection from weather or flooding providing appropriate access and egress suited to the purpose for which they are being used ventilation methods of establishing field hygiene and waste facilities pathophysiology of common communicable diseases process of disease relevant documentation processes relevant legislation, and organisational policies and procedures relevant vector borne diseases risk management principles water quality assurance measures. |
