Unit Description

Assessment Tool
an assessor resource that builds a framework for writing an assessment tool
Assessment Template
generate a spreadsheet for marking this unit in a classroom environment. Put student names in the top row and check them off as they demonstrate competenece for each of the unit's elements and performance criteria.
Assessment Matrix
a slightly different format than the assessment template. A spreadsheet with unit names, elements and performance criteria in separate columns. Put assessment names in column headings to track which performance criteria each one covers. Good for ensuring that you've covered every one of the performance criteria with your assessment instrument (all assessement tools together).

mark up the unit in a wiki markup codes, ready to copy and paste into a wiki page. The output will work in most wikis but is designed to work particularly well as a Wikiversity learning project.

Develop an understanding of ensemble playing

1. In a learning environment, develop an understanding of the different types of ensembles and instrument combinations

2. With appropriate personnel, discuss issues and challenges that arise in the context of playing in an ensemble

3. Confirm own role in ensemble

Use group practice time to develop performance skills

4. Guided by a teacher or mentor, select repertoire suited to the performance skills of ensemble members

5. Practise performing pieces together as a group

6. In collaboration with other members of the group identify areas that need to be improved and incorporate into practice sessions as required

Perform short, simple pieces as part of an ensemble

7. Perform warm-up routines as required

8. Contribute to a cohesive performance by taking and giving cues reliably, promptly, accurately and sensitively

9. Synchronise own playing or singing with that of other performers

10. Maintain accuracy in own musical entries and exits throughout the performance

11. Apply listening skills and adjust own playing or singing as necessary to achieve required sound

12. Comply with OHS principles in practice sessions and performances

13. After performances, collaboratively and constructively assess how well the group played together and agree on ways to improve performances
